[prMac.com] France - Developer Valentin Franck has formally released Dark Energy onto the Apple iOS App Store - the game, which features single and multiplayer gameplay, is Valentin's third application to be released to date. Priced at $0.99, Dark Energy 1.0 also released alongside a free Lite version of the game on the 27th of August 2013.
"The sci-fi genre is exploding with new releases in the gaming industry - and it's comes as no surprise that Valentin would want to bring his expertise to the field in-order to create a truly addictive mobile game inspired by the interest" said a representative from Applans, professional mobile app marketing agency.
Dark Energy was released on the 27th of August and features a single campaign of 15 unique levels - the game is styled as a vertically-scrolling 2D shooter set in deep space. The aim is to eliminate alien ships that fly towards you - you are able to do this by equipping weapons and firing them with a tap.
Dark Energy hopes to reach everyone with a new view of sci-fi, it's fun and entertaining without being long and complicated. The game also supports the iPad. Dark Energy uses the accelerometer and touch screen together to form an intuitive way to play.
The storyline follows the idea that in a dystopian future, humans are forced to fend for themselves in an ongoing space battle of epic proportions; you fly a basic spaceship that you are then able to upgrade as the game progresses.
The app was programmed in HTML 5 with both online multiplayer through nodeJS and "face to face" local multiplayer - currently this is a proof of concept but may be later developed substantially.
"It's not very often that you can try something new, and combining sci-fi with something that mobile users had been well accustomed to for years was certainly a step in that direction. Dark Energy requires you to collect dark energy and other energy orbs as you play for immersive and addictive gameplay" - stated Valentin Franck, the developer of Dark Energy.
