[prMac.com] Auckland, New Zealand - At long last, one of the favourite puzzle games available on Macintosh, Mahjong Solitaire 2, gets a sequel. Mahjong Solitaire 2 originally came out in May 2003 and was one of the first native Cocoa Shanghai games available. In 2004 it became the first 3D Mahjong game on the Mac, Soon after it was picked up by the legendary Freeverse and became Burning Monkey Mahjong Solitaire.
Introducing Mahjong Solitaire 3:
How do we make this classic even better? First of all instead of 76 Layouts we now have 1000; that's right 1000 layouts for you to play on. Then we give the game a fresh layer of paint. High quality tile sets, high quality layouts, reflections, environment mapping, you name it we have it. If fancy graphics aren't your thing the game will also play in plain old vanilla 2D.
The game looks and plays incredible. Come for the incredible 3D graphics, stay for the addictive gameplay. Along with the classic Mahjong Solitaire game we all know, the game includes the popular two turns mode. The game introduces Survival, a compelling game mode where you race to find matching tiles against the clock. Finally we have Spotlight. A light follows your cursor for a challenge only the most adept mahjong solitaire players will accept.
Not only is Mahjong Solitaire 3 good looking and fun to play, it's smart too. Play a song in iTunes; MJS3 will turn off it's own music and allow you to control iTunes in game.
That's not all. Maybe 1000 layouts aren't enough? Mahjong Solitaire 3 has it's own build in editor to make your own layouts. Make massive layouts with up to 16 layers of tiles. Simple, elegant, beautiful and fun to play, Mahjong Solitaire 3 is a worthy successor to one of the favourite Mac puzzle games of all time.
