[prMac.com] Munich, Germany - DASAT is now offering an interactive Oktoberfest guide for the Apple iPhone. It includes hundreds of descriptions and pictures all around the beer tents and rides at Oktoberfest, but also functions that show in real time which tents are currently open or closed, GPS navigation to guide you to any attraction or chat with other users via an online forum.
No clue at the Oktoberfest? Closed tent doors again? No idea where the Teufelsrad is located this year? You can forget all of that with the Oktoberfest guide for the Apple iPhone. The Oktoberfest guide application by DASAT is as of right now available at the Apple App. Store for an introductory rate of 0.79 Euro and helps with all of the typical Oktoberfest "problems".
"We offer an easy-to-use Oktoberfest guide which includes not only detailed information about all tents, rides and other attractions, but also numerous useful innovations", explains Peter Vogel, president of the Munich IT company DASAT. "For example, by using this application you can constantly look up which Oktoberfest tents are currently closed and which rides are most popular. Linking the guide for the Oktoberfest with a cell phone seemed obvious, since everybody carries their phone with them anyway." The concept is simple but clever: With a click on a button you can report whether a tent was closed due to maximum capacity or if it was reopened because seats became available again. This allows other users to decide in real time which tents they can currently access. Rides can be rated on a 1-5 star scale and be accompanied by a statement in the integrated forum.
The implemented GPS navigation allows tourists to easily find any attraction at the Oktoberfest. There is not only an interactive map of the entire Oktoberfest grounds but also a position finding function and navigation routing to all Oktoberfest attractions and even many after parties or stores to shop for the traditional outfits.
Within the iPhone application you will find hundreds of pictures and detailed information about all beer tents, rides and other attractions at the Oktoberfest. All the data is constantly updated and kept current, and comes from research and cooperations between DASAT and other platforms such as the former Oktoberfest portal or the Munich trend website. "We did our research regarding current details and historic backgrounds and invite the viewer behind the scenes of many beer tents or rides" explains Peter Vogel. For example, readers will get insider information about the oldest ride, the "Krinoline" as well as new ones such as the "Mondlift" (formerly "Enterprise").
