[prMac.com] Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation - Underworld: SweetDeal is a unique location-based MMO title for iPhone/iPod Touch, based on a classic DopeWars game. Using GPS inside the iPhone and iPod Touch, players discover a parallel world based on underground economy. The goal is to find good deals in places the player goes to in real life and to make profit by moving the merchandise around. The unique feature of the game is that you must actually move in a real world to move in the game.
September 30, a new version of Underworld has appeared in the AppStore. The unique feature it possesses is in-app purchase mechanics for paid in-game extras. Also known as micro-transactions. Typical thing for major PC & console titles, yet very rare in the AppStore.
The title's prequel, Underworld: DrugLords, has been widely discussed in major tabloids and the blogosphere since its unofficial release to a limited beta testing community in January, 2009. After Apple has rejected the game in February, the game was re-skinned to another theme: from drugs to candies.
* iPhone or iPod Touch 3.0 or later
Pricing and Availability:
Underworld: SweetDeal 1.3 is only $0.99 (USD) and available exclusively through the App Store. Underworld: SweetDeal is now distributed in two versions: Free & Premium, with the second one allowing players to use micro-transactions.
