[prMac.com] Putney, Vermont - Brothers Ian Gillespie and James Gillespie, developers and partners in IGG Software, will personally present IGG's finance management applications, iBank and iBank Mobile, in demonstrations at four major Apple retail locations this November.
Offering a rare opportunity to meet the developers of the popular, Mac-only program, demonstrations of iBank will be held as follows: November 4, at Apple San Francisco (Stockton St.) and November 11, at Apple 3rd Street Promenade (Santa Monica), both with James Gillespie; and November 11 at Apple Boston (Boylston St.) and November 18 at Apple SoHo (New York) with Ian Gillespie. All presentations will be at 6 p.m. and are offered in conjunction with Apple's Wednesday "Business Day" workshops.
"Speaking as developers," says IGG president Ian Gillespie, "it's a great pleasure to write software for the Mac platform. But speaking as publishers, we're looking forward to going into Apple's stores to talk with their customers - and our customers - directly."
Designed and developed exclusively for OS X, iBank offers a familiar Mac interface, direct connections to online accounts, reliable sync from iBank Mobile (the companion app for iPhone and iPod touch), and seamless integration with MobileMe. iBank, available at select Apple retail locations and from apple.com, is fully compatible with OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), taking advantage of the Intel architecture of the latest Macs; iBank desktop users have the benefit of hardware (iSight) and software (iCal) integration as well.
Demonstrations of iBank will focus on ways the app can streamline users' personal money management, including importing data from other Mac or PC finance apps; investment and portfolio tracking; automatically downloading transactions from online accounts; and many other capabilities. In addition, the workshops will cover iBank Mobile for iPhone and iPod touch. Available separately via the iTunes App Store, iBank Mobile allows transaction entry on the go, the ability to review account balances, and easy sync with the desktop version of iBank - even for multiple users, like business or domestic partners, sharing access to the same accounts.
Ian Gillespie, the Vermont-based developer of iBank, founded IGG Software in 2003 after receiving a doctorate in botany from the University of California, Riverside. His brother James Gillespie, the San Diego-based developer of iBank Mobile, joined IGG in 2008 after 12 years of Mac product development at Intuit.
