[prMac.com] Vienna, Austria - Dare to be Creative Ltd. today announced the release of Sponge 1.3, an update to its system clean and optimization tool for Mac OS X. Sponge combines three techniques to reclaim disk space into a single tool: removing applications, sweeping disk hogs and finding duplicates. The new version offers better performance, smoother usability and greater stability.
Sponge is now faster, more responsive and uses less system overhead. This means users can let Sponge track down large files and find duplicates in the background for them while they continue with other tasks.
The update improves the user experience by making Sponge quicker and easier to use. For example, Sponge now automatically continues when switching between tabs.
The new version is also more robust, and in particular fixes some of the problems users were experiencing when running Sponge on very large filesystems.
* Find and safely remove installed applications
* Track down and delete large files and directories
* Find duplicate files
* Mac OS X Version 10.4 or higher
* Snow Leopard compatible
* Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel
Pricing and Availability:
Sponge is $26 (USD), and available as a free download from the Sponge website. It runs initially in a 15-day trial mode with all features active. This is a free update for registered users.
