[prMac.com] London, United Kingdom - CMG Research Ltd today is proud to announce Sudoku Grab 1.7.4, an update to their popular iPhone application. The new update adds an Augmented Relity mode to the application where the solution to the Sudoku puzzle is superimposed on top of the live feed from the iPhone's camera.
The application uses image processing techniques to locate the puzzle in the camera view and then applies OCR to identify the digits of the puzzle. The user can then "grab" the puzzle and store it in their puzzle book. Alternatively the user can elect to show the solution to the puzzle - in this scenario the complete puzzle solution is shown superimposed on top of the camera feed as is the user had filled in the puzzle.
When a puzzle is grabbed the application automatically grades the puzzle's difficulty by applying the same logical solving techniques that a human would use. Sudoku Grab allows the user to grab as many puzzles as they want and also comes with a set of puzzles built into the application for when there is not a newspaper readily to hand.
* iPhone or iPod Touch 3.1 or later
