[prMac.com] Perth, Australia - ASC Software's first major game Shoot On Sight Pro has just hit the AppStore and the company is expecting a lot of interest in the game due to its fun and unique nature. The Lite version, available since late December, has generated a good deal of interest and a healthy download count.
As the name suggests Shoot On Sight is a shooting game but it is unlike any game that the user may have played before. In a genre best described as an augmented reality shooter, instead of asking the user to shoot animated characters and meaningless 3D figures, it lets the user shoot anything they can see and best of all it's all harmless. Each shot taken gets saved in iPhone's image gallery allowing the user to share their exploits with the world. Single Player:
The user can grab the application and start shooting their friends and foes without worrying about physically hurting them or paying for each shot fired. It's perfect to get back at someone or even start a new war. The user can target their boss, colleagues or someone they don't like and can upload the shots straight on to their Facebook account from within the application.
With an arsenal of weapons at their disposal and many configurable options, such as varying wounds, frames and colour effects, creativity is only limited by the user's imagination. Multiplayer (No WiFi required):
Multiplayer mode lets all players choose a team, set game parameters like game time, max shots etc and then indulge in skirmish fun as portrayed in a recent YouTube video trailer. Lead Developer Hammad Mujtaba recalls "One of the major requirements of the Multiplayer mode was not to limit the user to any boundaries, so WiFi was not an option. We designed the game so that users have to sync only once through the Bluetooth and after that they can use SMS and Phone calls to reach their team mates. Of course they can do all that from within the application." Once the time is up, all the players can compare their shots to determine the winning side.
Company director Courtney Smith states "ASC Software's focuses is innovation and keeping up to date with the latest advancements. This is the exact attitude that has always given us an advantage over our competitors. The iPhone sets a benchmark, and we know that all other companies are going to follow suite with similar hardware. Working on the iPhone platform will not only allow us to expand our business but it will prepare us to create innovative products for the technologies to come."
