[prMac.com] Redwood City, CA and Sophia-Antipolis, France - L'Escapadou and Moms With Apps are pleased to announce that L'Escapadou, an app developer for the iPhone and iPad, has received the first "Editor's Choice" recommendation from Moms With Apps. This designation is given to developers who are recognized by Moms With Apps as making significant contributions in the world of family-friendly apps.
L'Escapadou's most popular app, Montessori Crosswords, is an iPhone and iPad app mentioned in the New York Times, with 4 stars rating average on the app store, and over 25,000 downloads to date. Based on the internationally recognized Montessori learning method, the app helps kids develop their writing/reading skills by building words from a set of pictures using a Movable Alphabet. The app includes audio for each word as well as letter sounds (phonics), and uses 300 word-image-audio combinations to create tens of thousands of different crosswords. Many recent features were integrated from feedback received by teachers and educators involved in the Moms With Apps network.
"What impresses me about L'Escapadou is how they constantly improve the quality of their apps by acting upon feedback from their users. By focusing on educational content, and by incorporating the opinions of educators they meet along the way, it's no surprise to read the favorable reviews their apps are receiving on iTunes." said Lorraine Akemann, Editor and Co-founder, Moms With Apps
"We are very pleased to receive this recognition. We worked hard to update the app so that parents and teachers requests are added, and we are still working on a free update to add new requests from educators." said Pierre Abel, co-founder of L'Escapadou
