[prMac.com] San Francisco, CA - The Flashforward Film Festival, part of the Flashforward 2008 Conference, today announced their nominees for the Big Orange Rubber Arrow. Fifty nominees have been identified in 10 categories for the awards night ceremony on August 21, 2008 at the Masonic Center in San Francisco. Nominees are vying for Big Orange Rubber Arrows the equivalent of an Oscar in the Flash(TM) community. The Film Festival recognizes both creative and technical achievement through the expression of media created predominately using Adobe Flash. In addition to the 10 Big Orange Rubber Arrows a Peoples Choice Award will be determined through online voting by any visitors. All 50 nominees can be viewed at the site. Winners in each category will be posted after the Flashforward Conference and Film Festival takes place.
Winners are announced from the stage during the August 21 awards ceremony which takes place during the Flashforward Conference. Each winner is awarded a Big Orange Rubber Arrow and the award-winning work will appear on the Flashforward website for all in the Flash community to view. The 50 projects are represented by 10 categories including: application, cartoon/story/narrative, code, experimental/art, game, motion graphics, navigation/experience, sound, typography, and video. There is one additional Big Orange Rubber Arrow awarded to the Peoples Choice Award which is a community-based award given by voters to their favorite Flash-based project. Online voting for the Peoples Choice opens today.

Cartoon/Story/Narrative: AMP X-Games, Bow Street Runner, Dishoom 2008, Mentos KissCam, and Paper Shepherd.

Experimental/Art: Ensemble, Foul Owl Karaoke, Paper Critters, Pyrotechnics, and Twittearth.
Game: Ethan Haas Was Right, Hot Air 2, RoboBrawl, Tibao, and Twang!.
Motion Graphics: 30 Days of Night, Audi: Rhythm of Life, Dreft, Honda: 2008 Accord, and The Flagship Experience.
Navigation/Experience: Adobe Flash On, Established & Sons, Freikirchliche, Heroes of HIV, and Spectra Visual.
Sound: Audiotool, Emmanuel Rouzic, Keep on Wondering, Showdown Interactive, and Contrapunctus.
Typography: Festival Feta, Geert Delanghe, Hyundai, Mutabor Design, and What Are You Wondering.
