[prMac.com] Hamburg, Germany - For three years now, Face Melter has been the number one application on iOS for creative image morphing. Featuring an amazingly intuitive user interface, support for various online services like Facebook and Flicker, Face Melter is the fun app to got to for young and old.
To celebrate the third anniversary, Hamburg bound developer Nico Becherer has updated the app to support iOS5, the iPad camera and Twitter. Looking back to where Face Melter came from, Becherer remembers...
"It is amazing to see how far Apple has come with the iPhone and the iPad. When we first released Face Melter to the Appstore in 2008, we had just returned from a trip to Cupertino where we have been talking to some Apple people about what could be done with the iPhone if the global developer community gets their hands on the developer tools".
Today, more than 100.000 developers are programming more than 450,000 apps for the App Store. Just imagine - if you printed out all this code, it would be enough to plaster the whole USA with code (please, use recycled paper if you want to try!).
"The first idea for Face Melter came, when i was on my way to work and saw a group of children making faces at each other. They had so much fun that I started to think how much fun it would be to just take any face you like and turn it into a fun picture to send around the world. The iPhone was the ideal device to make that happen".
Three years later, Face Melter has sold more than 100.000 copies and it's unique morphing algorithm is still unreached by other applications. If you don't believe it - take a look at it yourself.
