[prMac.com] Irvine, California - Talk Like a Pirate Day was originally started by two friends, John Baur and Mark Summers in the late 1990's. The concept was that on this day - everyone would talk like a pirate. Dave Barry, the famous columnist, was contacted by the friends and he fully supported this day and declared September 19th to be an official Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Penelope the Purple Pirate, Pirate Scribblebeard's Treasure with Oscar & Josephine, Treasure Kai and the Lost Gold of Shark Island, and Huggy Bird Dreambox storybook apps will go on sale or offered free in support of Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Technology in (Spl) Education will be hosting the Talk Like a Pirate Day App Event and PicPocket Books, Kidoodle Apps, and Treasure Bound Books will offer their top storybook apps at a discount or free.
