[prMac.com] Skovde, Sweden - Independent developer Bertil Horberg today is pleased to announce that his new iPhone game Helium Boy is now available on the App Store. The game is a modern take on the classic Nintendo games Balloon Fight and Balloon Kid.
Helium Boy is a full 3D platformer, featuring fun gameplay, Retina graphics with a cute and charming artstyle and is suitable for all ages. The player uses helium balloons to fly through colorful environments and collect stars, while avoiding birds, ninjas and other dangers. The game has eight levels, all with unique environments and different types of gameplay. Some levels are played as a traditional sidescrolling game while most of them lets the player move freely in 3D. The game uses an on rail camera that constantly forces the player to move forward and makes the game quite a challenge.
The game uses an onscreen gamepad. Touch the directional pad to move in the character in any direction. Press the Jump button repeatedly to fly with the balloons. If the balloons pop, press the Pump button to get new ones, or jump around without them. The player can also let go of the balloons at any time by pressing the Drop button.
