[prMac.com] Casselberry, Florida - Econ Technologies updates ChronoSync to version 4.3.2 and ChronoAgent for Mac to version 1.3.2. The updates improve performance of concurrent file copying and responsiveness when aborting a large file transfer along with numerous bug fixes. As always, all existing ChronoSync users update for free, forever.
ChronoSync is the automated synchronization and backup application for Mac OS X and ChronoAgent for Mac is a utility that runs on the destination Mac and communicates directly with ChronoSync. If you're synchronizing two Macs, sharing a folder on a Mac server between Macs, backing up one or more Macs to a Mac server, or even maintaining a bootable backup over a network, then the combination of ChronoSync and ChronoAgent is the answer.
The update to ChronoSync features several fixes:
* Fixed a crash when closing a previously created sync document with certain settings in effect
* Fixed date/time conversion that could cause scheduled synchronizations to fail for users with non-U.S. region settings
* Fixed a case-sensitive filesystem issue that was generating a "File not found" error when filename's case changed
* Fixed a crash if synchronizing a case-sensitive filesystem to a non-case-sensitive filesystem and the case-sensitive target had two files that differed only in case
* Fixed several incorrect translations and/or user interface elements
ChronoSync is the easy way to synchronize, backup, and create bootable backups. Synchronize between folders on your Mac, other Macs, PCs, external drives or anything you can mount on your Mac. Set up a Synchronizer document to schedule and automatically mount volumes so your syncs and backups are never missed. Archive your data and go back in time to restore and view older files. With ChronoSync, you can do a lot more than just copy data, you can manage data, too. Exclude files and folders, check the current sync status of files, even run trial synchronizations to see what will happen before it happens.
ChronoAgent for Mac is a utility that runs on a destination Mac and communicates directly with ChronoSync. Normally, when you connect to another Mac you mount it using file sharing. ChronoAgent bypasses file sharing, giving you full access to the destination Mac and eliminating the need to mount via AFP, SMB or other protocols. If you gain full access to a Mac, you can copy any file. Without full access, some files are off limits. With the combination of ChronoSync and ChronoAgent you gain full access to both Macs, automatically backup a Mac when it joins on a network, maintain bootable backups over a network, encrypt data over a network, and more.
ChronoSync and ChronoAgent for Mac will run natively on both Power PC and Intel-based Macintosh computers running Leopard, Snow Leopard, and Lion. ChronoSync and ChronoAgent for Mac are available in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese. Download and try the demos, or purchase ChronoSync for $40 and ChronoAgent for Mac for $10. For more information go to econtechnologies.com.
