[prMac.com] West Orange, New Jersey - Franck Koestel and Cristina Santamaria propose that making 10 minutes count is all it takes to have fun while inspiring kids to become multilingual. Princesses Learn Chinese is an application that allows children to use the technology of an iPad or iPhone to engage in early language learning that is not just educational, but loads of fun as well. The app exposes to Mandarin words and expressions through stories, games, songs and flashcards. Spend 10 minutes doing fun activities with your child in another language.
Set around a classic fairytale theme utilizing the timeless stories of Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, kids are encouraged to enter a magical kingdom with a princess as their guide. Set to a background of inspiring classical music, the app engages children in word-image association, word / expression repetition, and learn-through-play experiences.
A 4th book within the application, Little Mermaid, has just been published. It is available for download within the application. Little Mermaid helps children learn about the different names of family members in Mandarin, in the context of a story, games and a song. Flashcards with audio in Mandarin are available in the My Cards section of the app.
The application was featured in Apple's "What's Hot" list in April 2012. Franck and Cristina think a well-designed app can make it fun for children to start learning languages. All children need is for someone to open the door. Franck and Cristina feel privileged to have the opportunity to do just that.
