[prMac.com] Spokane, Washington - iPad users will now be able to search through their own handwritten text stored in their documents, thanks to the latest release of PhatWare's PhatPad note-taking and collaboration app. The new PhatPad, featuring PhatWare's proven handwriting recognition technology, introduces a revolutionary feature that allows searching for handwritten words in the PhatPad document.
Other new features in PhatPad include:
* Text "Search and Replace"
* New Grid menu which allows users to change vertical and horizontal gridline spacing and snap objects to grid for easier alignment
* Improved handwriting recognition quality
Unlike most note-taking apps, PhatPad enables users to jot notes in the manner they are most familiar with - their own handwriting. With its features designed to encourage collaboration among a work-team, PhatPad turns any iPad into an advanced brainstorming tool by enabling team members to draw, write, record voice notes and type on the iPad, then instantly share ideas via email, WiFi sync, Dropbox, Evernote, Google Docs, or in PhatPad's presentation mode.
PhatPad is highly regarded for its smooth-flowing digital ink technology, which lets iPad users scribble notes as if they are writing on real paper, but is best known for its powerful multilingual handwriting recognition engine - automatically converting handwritten notes into text. PhatPad is available in eleven languages, including English, German, French, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, and Spanish.
"The beauty of PhatPad as a note-taking, collaboration and brainstorming tool, is that it allows users to draw pictures, jot notes, or put a mixture of pictures, drawings, handwritten and typed text on a virtual scratch pad," said Stan Miasnikov, president of PhatWare Corp. "By enabling users to search handwritten text, PhatPad makes their own handwriting just as functional as an input method as tapping in text."
PhatPad's handwriting recognition engine allows users to convert previously recorded handwritten notes into digital text, and edit text using either the handwriting input panel or the keyboard.
Brainstorming and collaborating with team members is simple using PhatPad's Presentation mode, which allows users to create quick presentations and display them on the iPad screen and external monitor.
