[prMac.com] Seattle, Washington - Early Ascent, LLC today announced that the popular Reading Raven learn-to-read app is now available for iPhone (iPod compatible) in the Apple App Store, where it has quickly established itself among the top 10 free educational apps. Since the iPad version was released in February this year, Reading Raven has become a favorite for parents, educators and special ed teachers who are looking for fun and engaging learning apps for children in the preschool through first grade age groups.
The app focuses on building foundational reading skills for young kids through a variety of interactive and multi-sensory games and activities, which serve as a springboard to mastering more complex reading and learning concepts.
"I can't say enough wonderful things about this app," said Carolina Nugent, Director of Education for the educational app store, Kindertown. "Reading Raven has one of the strongest educational and design foundations we have seen."
Like Reading Raven for iPad, the iPhone version includes five extensive lessons with hundreds of skill and confidence-building reading and learning activities for young children. The app is optimized for the iPhone screen such that, for example, word tracing is done one letter at a time. The learn-to-read game also features a "pause" button, so the user can temporarily stop the game to receive or make a call.
"We continue to receive great user feedback on Reading Raven and we are very proud of the extraordinary reviews and ratings we have garnered," said Scott White, founder of Early Ascent. "Our goal is to provide a rich learning experience that actually helps kids learn reading skills in a systematic way, something that's quite rare for educational apps. We also want to make sure that kids are really enjoying the process by making the game fun and rewarding, and we think educators, parents and kids are excited about our approach."
Reading Raven for iPhone is free to download and includes one free lesson with four additional lessons priced at 99 cents each or 2.99 dollars for the lesson bundle. The free lesson gives users access to all lesson components, learning activities and settings. Find Reading Raven in the Apple App Store.
