[prMac.com] Alpharetta, Georgia - VoidFall features over 20 levels of increasing difficulty, including "Story mode and "Survival Mode" levels. In "Story Mode", players advance through the ranks of the Terran Navy, first undergoing turret training on Earth against the classic helicopters and paratrooper dummies. After earning their stripes, players are deployed to increasingly remote human colonies to defeat the strange and varied alien attackers. In "Survival Mode", the aliens keep coming faster and thicker until the player is ultimately overwhelmed. The challenge is to survive as many waves of assault as possible.
The backdrop for these games are fantastic space backgrounds combined with high resolution animated alien foes and a driving, original soundtrack. Players can attempt to achieve objectives specific to each level, and brag or compete against friends with GameCenter and Twitter integration. These objectives range from minimizing the shots used, collecting a certain amount of bonus payments for eliminating enemies, or keeping any enemies from reaching the ground.
Adding to the fun are a variety of upgrades that can be purchased with the in-game currency collected by killing enemies and achieving objectives. These include a targeting laser to improve the player's aim, homing missiles, steerable shells, and orbital lasers to destroy enemies that reach the ground.
VoidFall includes a number of strategy elements to enhance gameplay. Falling enemies' parachutes or energy chutes can be targeted, sending them to the ground to destroy enemies that have landed previously. Every shot of the turret costs money, so accuracy is rewarded. Also, only one of each upgrade type (turret upgrades, touch weapons, shake weapons, and defensive upgrades) can be used on any single mission.
