[prMac.com] Basking Ridge, New Jersey - Math Pentagon today is pleased to announce Math!!! 2.1, its updated education app for iOS. The comprehensive app features worksheet sections specialized for ages spanning from elementary to junior high school, offering practice on a wide variety of mathematical skills. The app offers students a chance to do and check math work on their devices as well as track progress and scores. Teachers can assign worksheets or tests to students, review student work and analyze performance with the help of in-depth performance reports. The latest version of the App features
* Students solve math problems by writing on the device.
* Students track progress, worksheet history, and scores
* Several thousand worksheets from Grade 3 through junior high school
* About a quarter million questions and answers available
* Teachers create student circles for classes, assign worksheets, and review student work
* Live Learning Center lets teachers provide aid remotely
* Customized test creation
* Detailed, in-depth student performance reports
* Wall of Fame featuring students around the world
The App has a basic worksheet section for grades 3 through 6, as well as pro worksheets for Grade 5 through Junior High School. The worksheets function just like paper worksheets, allowing students to write on the scratch pad, solve the question and select the correct answer from multiple choice questions all through easy touch controls on the device's screen. It offers instant-feedback practice while saving paper and time for students.
The app features a "learn by practice" methodology. While basic worksheets are defined by a finite set of questions for each Math Topic, the pro worksheets take this to the next level. In the pro worksheets section, when students start doing the exercise, they receive 4 points for a correct answer and 1 negative point for a wrong answer. If they answer incorrectly, students can look up step-by-step solutions before they move on to the next question.
Students can attempt any number of questions until they score a 100, at which point the app understands that student has mastered the topic. There is a wide range of questions available, and the system is ideal for all levels of students. While some students may get 100 points after answering 25 questions correctly, it may take 50 or 60 tries for students who have more difficulty. Either way, the app tracks this progress and determines when the student is ready to move to the next level.
Math Pentagon also allows math teachers to create multiple virtual classrooms, or student circles. Once student circles are built, a teacher can create Math Worksheet assignments. As students answer worksheets, they can review the work and scores of each student, and are even able to see the students' scratch work. With extensive, in-depth progress reports, teachers can identify quickly and easily which students are doing well and which need more help with the concepts.
The app features an inbuilt, live Learning Center that teachers can use to help students remotely on an interactive whiteboard that is preloaded with worksheets. Teachers can also create tests in Math Pentagon, adding any number of Math topics. They may designate the number of questions from each topic that must be on the test, and if it is created for multiple students in the classroom, teachers can ensure that each student gets a different set of questions at the same difficulty level.
This math app creates a swift and orderly way of reviewing student progress for teachers, as well as an extensive, feedback-oriented practice method to truly help students learn. Teachers can identify which topics require more attention for certain students and shift their focus accordingly, providing maximum teaching efficiency.
At the same time, students will enjoy polishing their math skills using the elegant touch controls with this engaging new learning tool. The app even updates a Wall of Fame, where students can engage in friendly competition with other math learners from around the world for encouragement and fun.
"An effective learning management system, Math Pentagon helps teach math to students in an efficient, focused, and data driven manner. We think Math Pentagon is going to be the future of Math Learning in flipped classrooms" commented Yasmeen Kassim of Math Pentagon.
