[prMac.com] Taitung County, Taiwan - A travel photo is usually composed by two elements: people as the subject and a beautiful scene as the background. So if you want to "pretend" to be in Hawaii, you might find a beach photo with some palm trees and some bikini girls in it. Then put a cutout of yourself onto this photo. Sounds simple? Sadly, most people could have 3 immediate difficulties. 1: Removing the background from a photo to create a cutout sounds too technical. 2: Finding beautiful scenic photos could be time consuming. 3: Finally, when placing the cutouts on the scenic photos, they don't look match and don't look nature. WhatsGoLa is the only app to overcome these difficulties. In the latest version 2.0, you may even apply filters to the superimposed photos to make them more artistic.
WhatsGoLa, first released in late June 2012, has been downloaded more than 20,000 copies. More than 60,000 superimposed photos have been created and shared on the Internet. We are so happy that people do give us positive feedback and constructive suggestions after using it. This keeps our motivation to try our best improving this product. In the past 10 months, we have added 30 more features, 50 improvements and fixed errors. Starting from 900 points of interests in the initial version, WhatsGoLa now already contains more than 2000 POIs all over the world classified into 68 categories. 1000 of them are also connected to Wikipedia. This lets users download beautiful photos with easy taps and read articles about this landmark at the same time - in one app.
Version 2.0, the latest major release, has brought the new user interface design and the FX effect filters to our fans. Now you may create superimposed photos with even more pleasant experience. Furthermore, the 17 creative filters can let you make the final images more artistic. On the other hand, sharing photos to Instagram also becomes much easier. It now automatically adds the hash tags based on the GPS location of this image. With the POI name, city name, and country name tags, you could gain more Likes when sharing photos on Instagram.
The free version 2.0 is also revised. Many limitations from the previous versions are eliminated. With the free version, users can now create as many overlays and superimposed images as they want, visit all 2000 POIs, and preview unlimited Panoramio images. We are making this decision to let free-version users experience all great features provided in WhatsGoLa, so they can always try our full-functional free trial first before purchasing the full version.
The full version not only removes the Ad, but also removes the watermark from the superimposed images. Each background image can be placed multiple overlays and the final photos can be 6 times sharper. If you like to keep a record of the visited locations, the full version even lets you bookmark POIs as simple as adding bookmarks in Safari.
WhatsGoLa aims to let people "travel" to the world with as little money as possible. If you login Facebook in the app, you may even share cutouts with your friends. So when you travel next time, consider collecting friends' cutouts and superimpose them on the travel photos you take. They will appreciate your naughty originality and imagination.
