[prMac.com] Seattle, Washington - SeedCode is thrilled to announce that the new build of GoZync--build 3.172--significantly speeds up the process of pulling data down to mobile devices.
"This is important because some of our users pull down a good deal more information than they push up," says John Sindelar of SeedCode. "Speeding this up is going to be big for our customers. In one of our tests, pulling 5,000 new contacts down to mobile went from over 12 minutes down to 2 minutes flat. We've learned that most of our users are customizing GoZync's scripts to build the workflow they want, so it's important that speed improvements like this can be easily added into existing deployments by replacing a few scripts."
Build 3.172 is a free update for existing users.
GoZync is an unlocked framework that let's developers add synchronization to the FileMaker Go solutions, enabling their users to work offline. GoZync is reliable, transactional and well documented: it's designed to be modified. GoZync lets you:
* Push and pull data over shaky (even 3G) connections.
* Gracefully handle disconnects in the middle of data transfers.
* Deploy new builds of the mobile files to your users.
* Pull found sets (just my data) down to mobile users.
* Rely on database transactions for reliable sync.
GoZync is a collaboration between SeedCode and Geist interactive. Geist interactive is led by Todd Geist, a long-time leader in the FileMaker Pro community. He has spoken at several FileMaker DevCons, and at Macworld here in the US and in the UK.
