[prMac.com] Paris, France - Launched by 25-year-old Julien, Arnaud and Souheil, Paris-based Onefeat 3.2.1 aims to bring the fun back to social networks with a new concept. The premise of the app is simple: it sets users a number of challenges to complete. Examples are: Bite your finger, write a band name with French fries, propose to someone, cruise on the back of a pick up truck, dive off a cliff, watch the sunset. In order to complete each challenge you simply take a photograph of yourself performing the challenge.
Challenges are ranked in 120 topics (Work, Train, Lover, Rockstar...) with rewards that get increasingly difficult to unlock as you progress in the game. The app has a social component that allows users to browse other people's challenges, rate them and compete with your friends or the rest of the world.
The Onefeat app aims to "become your everyday companion anytime you are bored" says design co-founder Julien Dao. "We collect all the greatest experiences you can have in life and and turn it into the best game you'll ever play."
The interesting twist about Onefeat is that it taps into real world experiences. "Traditional iOS games will give you good fun but you stay locked in your bubble, Onefeat pushes you to find the fun in the real world and get out of your comfort zone." says UX co-founder Souheil Medaghri.
Onefeat describes itself as the "anti self-improvement app". "Most apps get so serious when it's about improving your lifestyle and happiness, it gets boring very fast. We just wanted to build something that make people's lives more fun, nothing more," says Onefeat CEO, Arnaud Ferreri.
From their stomping grounds of Paris, Onefeat managed to grow to a global community that completed 80,000 challenges in more than 60 countries, which prompted the team to move their offices to San Francisco where they raised $400,000 from notable investors in the Silicon Valley.
6 months of work have been necessary to build the app, mostly to improve the game mechanics and design to make it more fun and easy to use. "Apps are reaching a level of design that is truly impressive. You need to build something really easy to use and beautiful if you want to get noticed, this takes time." says Julien.
The unique concept, standout design and vibrant community are the ingredients that make Onefeat shoulders above the thousands of other apps available on the Appstore.
