[prMac.com] Bend, Oregon - Hollywood professionals can now log their footage and generate daily reports using a new 7.0 version of the MovieSlate app for iPad/iPhone. The popular filmmaking production app has been redesigned and optimized for Apple's iOS 7, while maintaining full compatibility with iOS 6. MovieSlate 7 also brings many new features.
Each time its clapper sticks close, MovieSlate 7 can now automatically announce production/roll/scene/take (and other) credits in a Siri-like voice that users can customize to their liking. Audible scene/take announcements help camera and sound departments ensure that their logs and reports are in sync.
When MovieSlate 7 is connected to a wireless Teradek Cube encoder, live camera video and synced timecode can now be monitored from the app's new Video screen. Camera stills can be saved as MovieSlate image/text notes, and appear in many of the app's report formats.
Speaking of reports, MovieSlate 7 now natively generates and emails PDFs for any of the app's HTML-based report formats. There's also a new system to archive reports in addition to sending them to post-production colleagues.
To support the myriad of production workflows, the extremely configurable app has many tabs, and screens. MovieSlate 7 brings a scrolling tabbar that provides faster access to any screen, along with the ability to show, hide, and rearrange screen tabs. MovieSlate 7's many preference settings can now be saved as Workspaces that can be shared between colleagues in order to standardize the app's user interface for a particular workflow.
Joe Foglia, production sound mixer on the hit ABC show "Nashville", says: "I've waited my entire career for something like MovieSlate. If there was ever an app I'd buy an iPad for, this is the one."
