Healing the mind and body with breathing and meditation has become a popular activity. In a fast-paced and busy world, you’ll need all the help (and rest) you can get to stay productive and happy. Here are five items you should add to your zen space at your Skye at Holland condo to enhance the practice.
A Bluetooth Speaker
Having a Bluetooth speaker adds a layer to your mindfulness routine. You can stream soft music or neural beats to get into a meditative state faster. You can close your eyes and imagine that you’re in a tranquil forest or listen to the waves crashing on a beach shore with the right audio.
Diffuser with Ambient Lighting
Diffusers are devices that put out scents via essential oils. You can further add to the mood by choosing a device that combines ambient lighting. Have it change color according to your mood, then close the lights and enjoy your personal time. Some diffusers can be controlled via an app for hands-free mode.
Comfortable Cushions
It’s important that you be as comfortable as possible when you’re meditating. Rather than sit on the floor, you can buy a floor cushion or something similar. Cushions allow you to extend your time in your meditation spot.
Scented Candles for Focus
Scented candles work in two ways. First, you’ll have something natural to focus on (the flame), and two, as the wax melts, it gives off a pleasant scent. Most zen spaces have them to help people relax and become more in tune with themselves.
Your Favorite Mantra or Positive Affirmation
Lastly, print out your favorite affirmation or mantra and either put it in a photo frame or tack it on the adjacent wall. With this, you’ll get reminded and re-center yourself if you’re having difficulty focusing.
