Interact 1.0 - iPhone App Targets #1 HR Issue: Employee Engagement

in Business (E)

[] Pinehurst, North Carolina - The Assessment and Development Group International (ADGI), the developer of Organizational Management System, has released Interact 1.0, a new app for iPhone and iPod touch users. Interact draws heavily from ADGI's extensive organizational and behavioral assessment experience to help managers create management strategies complete with specific tactics tailored to each employee's motivation, talents, and worldview.

The strategy reports for each employee generated in the app include identifying the talents the person seeks to use on the job, the person's work environment preferences and needs, and the specific management behaviors that will work most successfully with the employee's motivation and style. The management behaviors are generated through the app's comparative analysis of the traits and behavioral styles of the manager and each employee.

Two ADGI proprietary tools, the OMS Questionnaire and the Interaction Style Checklist, power this app. The user completes the OMS Questionnaire as a first step (about 7 or 8 minutes), which generates two comprehensive reports describing the user's Interaction Style (communication and interpersonal behaviors) and the user's management style, including how to leverage that style most advantageously to improve personal effectiveness. The user then completes the very brief IS Checklist on each employee, creating a report on each person's behavioral style, a strategy report detailing motivational, talent utilization, and management needs, and a Q & A report addressing additional management considerations for that employee.

Users can enter as many employee contacts as their mobile devices will hold. Contact data can be keyed in manually or pulled from the Contacts app on the phone. Once created, Contact reports are available for review and can be emailed to produce hard copies. A comprehensive tutorial is also provided in the app, which explains how to use the app and the Interaction Style behavioral model for management activities and interactions.

Distinct from the financial benefits associated with higher levels of engagement and retention, Interact offers managers many valuable job performance and career benefits:

1. Interact offers the manager in-depth personal insights - and a dose of reality - to facilitate personal development and to help the manager leverage his or her own talents in a smart way.

2. Interact becomes a real time training program to help managers learn new behaviors and approaches and to modify their behaviors to improve the quality and effectiveness of their interactions with bosses, peers, and direct reports, and 3. Management interactions are more productive, more rewarding to both parties, more motivating, and more satisfying.

People seek to be understood for who they are and what they can contribute. By introducing a more objective, realistic understanding of each person along with the specific guidance and tactics to develop greater commitment and engagement with the job, Interact is a powerful personal productivity tool leading to higher performing, more satisfied employees who stay longer.
