Version 2.4 of Reading Remedies is being released Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The latest release continues to improve upon content and functionality, adding automatic adding up of student scores. "I wish all the parents of the students in my reading intervention classes used this app," says Mathew Needleman, app author and developer, "I tried to make it so that anyone can pick it up and without any prior knowledge pinpoint areas of student need and begin to support a student in acquiring needed skills."

Reading Remedies provides assessments in each of six areas: rhyming, blending, segmenting, sight words, fluency, and word attack and then offers tips on how to support students who need additional help in any of the areas. The current version of the app has a four star iTunes rating and it has been well reviewed in app review publications. Most recently, it was included in Scholastic Magazine's Top Teacher Blog list of iPad Apps to Support Literacy.
