[prMac.com] Winona, Minnesota - Brett Terpstra has released Marked v1.3.2, available in the Mac App Store. Marked is a viewer for Markdown and MultiMarkdown files which can track changes in the file and update the preview automatically on every save. In essence, it turns any text editor into a Markdown editor, allowing you to edit when you like, where you like with a consistent preview and output options. Marked allows for HTML export, printing, save to PDF, copying HTML source directly to the clipboard, Rich Text copy and export, document statistics and more.
* Save/Copy as RTF
* Word count for selection
* Word repetition visualization
* Readability Statistics
* Keyboard navigation
* Handles even larger files!
Additionally, on Lion, Marked can also watch for changes in files outside of the Spotlight Index, allowing more flexibility and opening up further options for integrating with even more applications.
Marked as a web design tool:
Since version 1.3, Marked has also been able to watch the active CSS file for changes in addition to the current Markdown or HTML file, updating the Preview when style changes are detected. Not only is Marked an excellent Markdown tool; this advance makes Marked a basic web development utility, too.
Marked has received tremendous reviews on the Mac App Store, and the Markdown-writing public has responded with great enthusiasm. Several users have reported that Marked was the tool that helped them finally "get" Markdown and put it into active use in their notetaking and writing. Peruse the reviews on both the App Store page and on the Marked website.

During the day, Brett works as Tech Lead for a web development team. He spends his evenings and free time experimenting with and building applications for Mac platforms. He's probably most well-known for his fork of Notational Velocity, nvALT, and for his early social media application MoodBlast. The big hug he got from Merlin Mann may not have made the papers, but it was a high point in his last Macworld visit. Copyright (C) 2011 Brett Terpstra. All Rights Reserved.
