[prMac.com] Cape Coral, Florida - Bluetelligence today is pleased to announce RB Package Maker Studio 2.5 for OS X, an update to their app that provides Real Studio developers with a full tool set that automates the process of preparing their app for submission to the Mac App Store. With a drag 'n drop interface, the app eliminates the arduous details of Packaging and Code Signing, required for acceptance to the App Store. RB Package Maker Studio lets users upload packages that are in full compliance with Apple's stringent specifications. Once configured and saved, developers can reuse their settings for updating and resubmitting their software with a single click of a mouse. In addition, RB Package Maker Studio can be used to prepare a user's Application Bundle with all Information, Help files, and additional Resource files for users who want to sell their application through their own web site or on third-party web sites.
RB Package Maker Studio begins by correcting the Info data created by Real Studio. Next, the app helps the developer to incorporate a Help system and additional Resource Files and Folders. A mandatory setting for the Mac App Store from March 2012 onwards is a full set of 27 Entitlement Keys for Apple's Sandboxing technology, which is created next. Lastly, RB Package Maker Studio Signs the user's Code and creates a PKG file, ready to upload to the Mac App Store. Without RB Package Maker Studio, this process is very cumbersome and needs in depth knowledge of UNIX commands and Apple's UNIX shell, the BASH. With RB Package Maker Studio, the whole process takes a fraction of time.
* Packaging & Code Signing the easy way
* Help Files created in your App info.plist file for you
* RB Package Maker Studio makes adding your Resource Files and Folders a snap
* Just select the right entitlements, and the app will generate the Sandboxing Entitlement file and sign your App in the correct way
* Online video tutorials
The app handles all 27 Apple Sandbox Entitlements, which can be saved and attached to the developer's other apps. And it also handles migration of older, non-Sandbox, app files automatically. Finally, RB Package Maker Studio helps users to setup the data correctly. Its Smart Checking System alerts the developer exactly where an error has occurred or when additional data is needed.
"As a Realbasic Developer, life, in terms of getting your application to the App Store, is not easy," commented Ingo Molitor of Bluetelligence. "Besides your usual work of coding your app, you furthermore have to upload a package to Apple that is in compliance with their rules. It's not rocket science, but it can be an unnerving process. In case you forget a tiny piece of it, your App might get rejected, resulting in a longer time-to-market span. And if you update your app at a later time, you need to redo all of these steps again. RB Package Maker Studio takes this process out of your hands and makes it as easy as clicking a button. And when you update your app, you just load your old settings and hit 'Go' again."
