iPhone Users Are Waking Up Refreshed Every Day With Productive Sleep

April 26, 2012 in Productivity

[prMac.com] Cupertino, California - Everyone would love to wake up refreshed each day and historically it has been assumed that more sleep equals a more energising sleep. Productive Sleep, the newly launch app for iOS devices, challenges this notion using the recognised science of repeated sleep cycles to ensure that users are only awoken at the end of a fully completed cycle. This technique is attributed to a more fulfilling sleep and natural restoration, allowing everyone to wake up refreshed every day, even when time is at a premium.

To seamlessly fit into a modern daily schedule Productive Sleep allows users to better manage their sleep patterns via two modes. Firstly, by offering suggested times to fall asleep based on a required waking time and secondly, by providing a series of suggested waking times based on going to bed immediately. Once the required wake or sleep time has been entered Productive Sleep presents suggestions with a colour coding to illustrate the overall effectiveness of each schedule. Simply pressing the desired time will set the appropriate alarm, along with a choice of user selected alarm tones.

The algorithms behind Productive Sleep are based on the accepted scientific notion that human sleep consists of multiple repeated cycles. Each cycle consists of four main phases that culminate in a period of rapid eye movement, the most important phase during every sleep session. Interrupting a sleep cycle can cause drowsiness and negatively influence the natural restoring process, whereas Productive Sleeps prevents this by calculating recommended times to ensure waking occurs only at the end of a full cycle - helping users to feel good regardless of the total sleep time available.

"It has long been a scientific belief that waking up without interrupting an individual sleep cycle ensures the individual remains as refreshed as possible through-out the day." commented Anton Malogolovets of MaMa Creative Studio. "Productive Sleep replaces a traditional alarm clock to allow everyone to take advantage of this scientific research and reap the benefits of a revitalising sleep every day."
