Focus Point enhances photo browsing experience on iPads
November 8, 2012 in Photo and Video
[prMac.com] Vancouver, Canada - A new photo browsing app available for the new iPad and iPad Mini enhances the way we look at and show our photos to others. Until now, iPad photo browsers have displayed tiny thumbnails that don't lend to a great viewing experience. Sarofax is announcing Focus Point, the first App to provide zoomable photo thumbnails.
With Focus Point, viewers can easily pinch in or out to choose any size thumbnail. The app also includes titles with thumbnails. These new features provide a delightful, natural, and effective way to browse photos.
For the 1.0 release, the app also features Zero-setup - it uses the built-in Photo Library (synced through iTunes) and displays all albums on any generation of iPad. This allows users to use the app without having to do any additional importing of photos. The app also supports iOS Photo Stream and Camera Roll.
In the full-screen mode, a dedicated metadata panel features 3 sections displaying photographic information such as titles and captions, geographic location, the camera settings used to take the photo, and details such as the photo's dimensions and aspect ratio.
Additionally, a unique search feature filters photos by keywords. For example, typing "Italy" into the search bar would return a selection of photos with titles or keywords matching.
Focus Point provides a beautiful minimalist design, with useful features through the use of gestures - from manual slideshow controls that allow swiping back and forth, to the ability to edit captions and titles with dictation.
"We designed this for ourselves as photographers, and with a dedicated team working over 18 months. The attention to detail, quality and reliability will quickly make this a must have in a photographer's toolset" - Ash Mishra, CEO of Sarofax.
