[prMac.com] Kostanay, Kazakhstan - Korotoff Republic today is proud to introduce Your name in Japanese 1.0, its completely new language translator for iPhone and iPod touch. Designed specifically to take advantage of the iPhone's unique capabilities and touch interface, "Your name in Japanese" is a transliteration table which maps English letters into Japanese sounds in a unique and systematic way.
Modern Japanese names' structure is similar to that of many other cultures, where there is one surname and one given name with no middle name. Common Japanese names usually consist of a family name (surname), followed by a given name. Japanese names are often built individually from the existing characters, so there is a great number of unique names in the language.
In the Japanese language, there is a greater variety of given names in comparison to surnames. While surnames are more traditional, most of them are derived from toponyms. Male and female names have different characteristic elements and structure. Reading Japanese names is one of the most difficult parts in this language.
"Your name in Japanese was realized to explore the mechanism of adding and promotion in app store," said Aleksandr Krotov, founder of Korotoff Republic. "The idea was offered by my friend, who once told me how his name sounds in Japanese. I thought, it would be a great idea to create a program that could translate the names into Japanese this way."
Unlike translation, transliteration is the practice of converting literal text, mapping one writing system directly into another. "Your name in Japanese" converts text on-the-fly, using the closest corresponding letters into English. The application is useful for study purposes, such as the persons origins, as well as choosing a name or a nick suitable for them.
