17 year old uses crowdfunding to develop app

Jan 29, 2013 - Megan Holstein, just 17 years old, is developing an app unlike any other. The Tree App is a task manager for the iPhone with a new spin; featuring a new style of UI called flat design, the aim of the Tree app is to bring flat design to the iPhone. Her goal isn't to turn a profit, but to develop an inexpensive productivity app nobody will have to pay an arm and a leg for. This app is also going to help put her through college. All this will be thanks to crowdfunding on indiegogo.com.


Emotion Cards: App to Help Autistic Children

Jan 02, 2013 - Pufferfish Software is proud to announce the updated Emotion Cards 1.25 for iOS. Emotion Cards, an app for special needs children, has been given it's biggest update yet, by Megan Holstein, a senior at Dublin Coffman High School for her autistic brother, Jason. Recognizing facial expressions is a common deficit of special needs children, and Emotion Cards helps them both express themselves, and communicate with others. The app itself is a set of pictures and accompanying audio, 81 in total.
