iconsBerlin Offers Free iPhone Tab Bar Icon Editor

February 2, 2010 in iOS Development (E)

[prMac.com] Berlin, Germany - iconsBerlin today is pleased to announce its iPhone tab bar icon editor. The online editor enables app developers to create tab bar icon art at no cost within a couple of minutes. Though iconBerlin offers a complete icon set as well, that one specific icon may be missing while a project's dead line is approaching.

The developer may begin with icon creation immediately. The icon editor speeds up the workflow. There is no need to look up the technical details for tab bar icon creation. The editor takes care of these details, two preview images show both possible modes of an icon, active and non-active, automatically. The tab bar icons are not simple images with freely selectable colors.

The iPhone OS uses alpha channel information for on device rendering. iconsBerlin's editor simplifies the creation process as the developer may draw as he selects colors from palette. Alpha channel conversion is done by just one click while downloading, unnoticed by the developer. After download the user may just rename the icon and drag it into Xcode in order to get the icon available in Apple's development tools. The user just needs to select the named image file for the tab bar item's image property in Interface Builder.
