Bodega Channel Program for Mac Developers Debuts

March 23, 2010 in Software (E)

[] Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - Popular Macintosh software developer, freshcode, today announced the debut of the Bodega Channel Program, a brand new initiative for Mac developers that allows them to sell and market their wares directly to customers through the Bodega 1.0 desktop application.

Product distribution in the Mac channel has always been a challenge for Mac developers. Traditional distribution, for example, is extremely expensive with developers often having to give up 70 points or more to distributors and retailers, and once in the channel, retailers often don't properly represent products to customers. Moreover, it can take months for developers to receive payments for their products that customers buy, and if a developer's products don't sell in the quantities a distributor wants, the distributor will drop them, leaving the developer high and dry and potentially deeply in debt.

The Bodega Channel Program eliminates all of this by providing a direct purchase path between Mac developers and customers within the Bodega application interface. The Bodega Channel Program features the ability for developers to reach customers directly on their desktops via the Bodega application, the ability to sell directly to customers through the Bodega interface using the developer's own webstore, and the ability to maintain complete ownership of customer relationships.

Member developers also enjoy powerful sales reporting tools, product promotional opportunities, the ability to provide marketing materials and videos to customers within the Bodega interface, and most importantly, no upfront or ongoing costs. Rather, when a customer buys a developer's product through Bodega, freshcode receives a nominal 7% fee of the sales price. The developer only pays freshcode when customers buy a developer's product through Bodega. It's just that simple.

"The Bodega application for the Mac is a new, exciting channel for Mac developers," said freshcode CEO Christian Dandeneau. "As members of the Bodega Channel Program, developers can reach customers in an intuitive, innovative manner, and use Bodega to effectively market and sell their products. Best of all, Bodega reaches only an active and qualified audience, and is extremely affordable for all developers, regardless of their size. Bodega and the Bodega Channel Program are the biggest no-brainers in the Mac industry."
