The Future of Media Storage Discussed at Creative Storage Conference

in Seminars and Events (F)

[] Agoura Hills, CA - Larry Jordan, executive producer and host of "Digital Production Buzz," and Final Cut Studio "guru" will moderate Session B at the Fourth Annual Creative Storage Conference (CS10) to be held Tuesday August 3, 2010 at the Radisson Hotel West Los Angeles in Culver City, California. "Storage in the Third Dimension" is the theme of this year's event, which brings together digital storage providers, end users, press, equipment and software manufacturers, and interested analysts.

Session B, moderated by Larry Jordan, is titled: "Size Doesn't Matter If You Ain't Got the Speed - Storage for Video Editing." Since a single production can generate terabytes of data, video production and editing don't just require storage, they devour it, Jordan's panel will answer: Where does that media get stored? How can we plan for future growth? What are the options for archiving visual stories for the future?

"When Tom Coughlin invited me to chair a panel at this year's Creative Storage Conference, I jumped at the chance," said Larry Jordan. "The storage and archiving challenges media professionals face in the transition to tapeless media, which generates vast amounts of data, is unprecedented in our industry. I wanted to create a session that examines the wildly diverse - and often incompatible - video formats, a general lack of IT skills in the production community, our demand for vast, high-speed data storage, and present some potential solutions in the near future that can help solve these issues."

Tom Coughlin, Creative Storage Organizer says that, "Digital storage is a key technology in editing and post production and we are pleased to have an experienced and passionate advocate of new and better workflow methods like Larry moderate this important and insightful session of the 2010 Creative Storage Conference."

Session participants include:
* Larry Jordan, Digital Production Buzz, Executive Producer and Host
* Rob Caldeira, Director Product Line Management, G-Technology
* Mark Fuccio, Sr. Director, Products & Markets Data Robotics, Inc.
* Steve Kanter, Freelance Editor
