Code by Kevin releases VuMan 2.0, man page GUI

February 28, 2007 in Software (F)

Code by Kevin has released VuMan 2.0, a GUI for reading man pages on OS X.

VuMan provides a user-friendly interface to the main system of Unix software documentation, the man page. Man pages are concise but thorough descriptions of the functionality and methods of the various Unix command-line programs. VuMan links together a number of Unix command-line tools to make searching, reading, and printing man page documentation a simple task.

Version 2.0 includes the following improvements:

* New icons for greater ease-of-use.
* Information now all contained in single main window.
* Keeps history of search terms.

VuMan is shareware; licenses are available for $20 and a 30-day demo is available. VuMan is a universal binary and requires Mac OS X 10.4.
