[prMac.com] Dublin, Ohio - FourthFrame Technologies today is pleased to announce a new suite of apps for project management on the iPad platform building on the success of their flagship app Project Pad. The suite, named Simple Genius, is headlined by Project Pad which has been renamed to Simple Genius Project, compactly: SG Project. SG Project supports building and monitoring task-based project schedules and sports table and Gantt-style views familiar to professional project managers, but usable by anyone.
With Apple's iPad selling 3 million units in just 3 months it is clear that the unique new platform is a winner. And not just for playing games and surfing the internet. Business apps are some of the top sellers and many business people are leaving their now-seemingly-clunky laptops in the office and using iPads on the go. App developers for the new platform are having a difficult time satisfying the voracious appetite for truly good business apps.
FourthFrame Technologies hit a sweet spot early on with their first project management app, Project Pad, which has ranked steadily in the top 20 business apps for iPad. Ty Jacobs, Principal and co-founder of FourthFrame reports that the app sold in 43 countries in just the first week alone. "The demand has been amazing. Apple's distribution platform and market penetration have rapidly afforded FourthFrame a worldwide presence. Every day we receive and respond to emails from customers around the globe."
Despite its success, Project Pad had a latent problem with its name that emerged when Apple stopped approving iPad apps with the term Pad in the name. "Our vision all along has included a full suite of easy-to-use apps supporting project managers and it became clear that the branding had to change in order to realize that vision," said Jacobs. FourthFrame adopted the new moniker Simple Genius for the suite and Project Pad has now become Simple Genius Project. "SG Project is what the cool kids will call it," quipped Jacobs. "Very importantly to us, the thousands of loyal Project Pad customers will not have to re-purchase the app. SG Project is making its debut at version 1.4, simply a free update to Project Pad version 1.3. When customers download the free update the app will just appear with its new name and branding, plus over a dozen new features."
FourthFrame is also committing to add at least 3 additional apps to the Simple Genius family in the coming months, which is good news for mobile project managers. The app suite will provide consistent and familiar interactions for managing the various aspects of projects. Based on the rapid uptake and positive response to SG Project so far, FourthFrame has the design know-how and technical chops to deliver.
