[prMac.com] Halifax, Nova Scotia/Canada - Allusions announced today the release of SunFlower 0.3/0.8 and a membership program. SunFlower 0.3 is freely available, 0.8 is available for members only.
SunFlower 0.3 - (Public Edition) introduces a new difference view, and provides many bug fixes and UI improvements over the 0.2 version.
SunFlower 0.8 - (Member Edition) is the first members only release and contains significant improvements over the current public release.
Explains Matthieu Cormier, of Allusions, "Coming from an open source background, I believe that software should be free. However, I also recognize that building quality software takes time and effort. To help offset the cost of creating quality software, a membership program was started."
Purchasing a membership provides the member with access to releases before they are made public. All versions of SunFlower will be made public eventually, but public releases will always be several versions behind the membership release. There is currently a five release buffer between the public and membership release.
SunFlower is a visual webpage monitoring tool designed for websites that change occasionally but provide no monitoring mechanism like RSS. With SunFlower, a user is not only notified when a website has changed but the user can actually see the difference.
