[prMac.com] Meaford, United Kingdom - Spot Documents today released Email Archiver for OS X. Email is valuable. The format that it is stored in with Apple Mail is neither future-proof nor accessible. Email Archiver creates an archive of all emails in PDF format. It is a free utility for OS X 10.6.
The free app works with Mail.app mail folders, creating a PDF for every email. Attachments are saved in folders next to the relevant email. This format allows email to be accessed and searched on company servers, cloud based file storage systems, etc. It changes no settings in Apple Mail, nor does it install any software plugins, etc. Email Archiver was created in order to allow all the company email to be archived using the Spot Documents document management system. It can be run manually, or automatically to keep the archive up to date.
The Application is part of a suite of tools that Keaten House is rolling out to facilitate its S3 hosted document management system. Spot Documents is a Mac based solution to hosting documents on S3, and allows today's modern spread out companies to interact with a rich, fast file server. The company also ships a free utility for helping organize scanned documents, called Filed Documents.
