in Photo and Video (E)

[prMac.com] New Delhi, India - Mirage Labs today is pleased to announce the release of VideoPix 0.33.22, an update to their first video frame grabber for the iPhone and iPod touch. Since its first release a year ago, VideoPix has been featured by Apple in the US and Japanese app stores and has been a top selling app in the video apps group.

The need to grab clear and perfectly timed images off video has been a long felt one. Often, one cannot decide whether to shoot video or photo. Or it happens that the video is too jerky. Or someone wants to analyze a video very minutely. VideoPix is a handy app to keep for use in such situations.

With the recent release, VideoPix now incorporates an enhanced video player which is capable of playing video at normal speed with sound, and has controls to alter the playback speed of video, pause, move single frame forward and backward to grab the perfect frame from video.

All the improvements in the app were based on suggestions from users. People have used it to grab still images from baseball videos, golf videos, baby videos, birthday videos, children playing in the park videos and full length movies on their iPhones.

The major features include direct selection of any video in the camera roll/photo library without the frustrating and time consuming "Compressing" interface commonly seen in other video apps, importing upto 1080p videos from computer, playback at desired fps (frames per second) between 1 fps to 60 fps, geo and time stamping, and facebook sharing. The grabbed images are in jpeg format and saved in the iPhone's standard camera roll folder.

For a limited number of downloads, VideoPix 0.33.22 is offered at a special introductory price of $0.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Photography category.
