[prMac.com] Winchester, Massachusetts - Ski Vertical is now available from the iPhone App Store. Ski Vertical is an easy way for Skiers and Snowboarders to record their daily and season total number of vertical feet, time and distance skied. At the same time Ski Vertical will play the users choice of music for riding a lift, skiing or waiting for friends. Ski vertical also uses GameCenter to award points for each days skiing difficulty to solve those apres-ski arguments about who had the tougher day.
Ski Vertical allows the user to specify a different playlist from the iPod music library for skiing or riding, going up on a chairlift or gondola and a playlist for those times spent waiting around for friends or a lift line. As the skier changes from one activity to another the music fades between each selected playlist.
Ski Vertical also awards points for the days skiing based on the steepness of slopes skied and just how much time was spent in double-black diamond territory. The scores are posted via GameCenter and in addition to an overall leaderboard, separate leaderboards are maintained for skiing, snowboarding and telemark skiing. You can compare your scores against your friends and other skiers around the world.
