[prMac.com] Luxembourg - Houdah Software is proud to announce that Tembo 1.0 has entered public beta. This draft version is available from the "Made at Gloria" Brewery. The final version is headed for the Apple Mac App Store.
Tembo is an efficient search tool that is based upon the Spotlight engine. The job of Tembo is to make searching (and finding) of files, mail messages, bookmarks, ... as easy as possible.
At first sight you will find Tembo to have been inspired by the original Spotlight interface as we knew it under Mac OS X Tiger. Search results are grouped by categories. Preferences allow for categories to be enabled, disabled and reordered.
Behind a small arrow on the header bar for each group you will find the real power of Tembo: drill-down. Tembo may list up to 2500 search results within each group. Here you will find filter appropriate for the context. These help you sort through the list of results. Messages, for example, may be filtered by subject, sender and recipient.
Thus Tembo is much more than a file search tool. It works as an extension to Mail.app / iChat.app to locate messages. And as extension to Safari to search browsing history and bookmarks, etc.
* Mac OS X Version 10.6.5 or higher
* Spotlight indexing enabled
Pricing and Availability:
Draft versions of Tembo are available for free from the "Made at Gloria" Brewery. Tembo 1.0 will be sold at the Apple Mac App Store. It will be priced at $20 (USD).
