Tembo 1.1: The Friendly Find Utility - Mac App Store exclusive

January 11, 2011 in Utility (E)

[prMac.com] Luxembourg - Houdah Software is proud to announce the immediate availability of Tembo 1.1. Tembo is sold exclusively through the Apple Mac App Store. A demo version is available from the Houdah online.

Enhancements brought by version 1.1 include:
* Refined UI. Uses less screen real estate
* Added menu items to limit search to file names or text content
* Added keyboard shortcuts
* Basic AppleScript support

Tembo is an efficient search tool that is based upon the Spotlight engine. The job of Tembo is to make searching (and finding) of files, mail messages, bookmarks, ... as easy as possible.

At first sight you will find Tembo to have been inspired by the original Spotlight interface as we knew it under Mac OS X Tiger. Search results are grouped by categories. Preferences allow for categories to be enabled, disabled and reordered.

Behind a small arrow on the header bar for each group you will find the real power of Tembo: drill-down. Tembo may list up to 2500 search results within each group. Here you will find filter appropriate for the context. These help you sort through the list of results. Messages, for example, may be filtered by subject, sender and recipient.

Thus Tembo is much more than a file search tool. It works as an extension to Mail.app / iChat.app to locate messages. And as extension to Safari to search browsing history and bookmarks, ...

System Requirements:
* Mac OS X Version 10.6.6 or higher
* Spotlight indexing enabled

Pricing and Availability:
Tembo 1.1 is exclusive to the Apple Mac App Store. It is priced at 14.99 (USD), or local equivalent.
