February 9, 2011 in Entertainment (E)

[] Seattle, Washington - DistinctDev, the developers behind 2010's #1 Paid iOS Entertainment App, announces the release of a new animated short, starring the iconic dewy-eyed Turtle from The Moron Test's beloved cast of characters. In celebration of Valentine's Day, the animated short is a romantic story centered around Turtle and his quest for love. After being downloaded over 11 million times across the iOS App Store, Android Market, and Ovi Store, 2011 will see The Moron Test's characters break into other forms of entertainment, including animated cartoons, plush toys, and more.

The Moron Test, one of Apple's Top 20 best-selling iOS apps of all time, is also the #8 Top Paid Game on the Android Market. Having recently announced plans for cross-platform expansion of The Moron Test onto iPad, Blackberry, Windows Phone 7, Intel App-Up, and Mac App Store, DistinctDev sees this as the perfect time to release the first extension of their famous cast of characters beyond the app.

"Our characters are among the most recognizable and quirky in mobile games, and players have always enjoyed the big personalities and story-like elements in The Moron Test," says Berkeley Malagon, President and CEO of DistinctDev. "We see this as the perfect opportunity to bring our characters to life for our longtime fans while also introducing their general appeal to a broader audience. This is a first step in exploring new media formats for The Moron Test - for instance, we can imagine families tuning in to watch an episode of The Moron Test on a Saturday morning."
