[prMac.com] Denham Springs, Louisiana - iPhone developer, Shawn Hitchcock, a happily married father of four, used the wisdom of his wife and kids to figure out what the average person would want in an iPhone game. Then with some determination, will power, and plenty of hard work he pumped out a new arcade game for the iTunes appstore.
His wife's enthusiasm for him to create an arcade game, initially inspired the project. She wanted a game with similar gameplay to one that she loved on her old Atari 2600 as a child. After the initial game was created, his kids approved the looks and helped debugged the final product. Together they came up with a simple recipe that would be the ingredients for a great iPhone game.
A cute character.
* A cute, yet simple story line that leaves imagination up to the user
* Very simple controls, so that anyone from 7 to 70 can enjoy
* And just enough challenge to keep players coming back for more
The name for their new game: Mad Monkey. The game includes a little cartoon monkey that always keeps a smile on his face while sliding back and forth across the top of the screen throwing down objects that the user tries to catch using only a finger. Catching too many items causes the monkey to get frustrated spouting funny little sayings and increasing his speed faster and faster until the user misses and objects splat on the screen making the monkey happy. Each level has a different theme including a picnic crashing monkey throwing fruit, circus scene with a clown monkey, a science lab with two cloned monkeys, and an oriental theme with sneaky ninja monkeys dropping sushi.
