[prMac.com] Chicago, Illinois - Tron Quixote has announced the release of Luminancer 1.0. Using techniques borrowed from video synthesis and light painting, Luminancer 1.0 simulates long exposure photography, video feedback, and palette swapping on live video streams. It utilizes real time pixel based effects to capture a still image. Luminancer's temporal based pixel processing and brightness filters on live video create a mix of expressive visual elements.
Luminancer 1.0 will satisfy casual users with its trippy special effects, to post and share photos in their social networks. Advanced iPhoneographers/videographers will appreciate the complexities of the preview mode and the focus on video engineering capabilities of the iOS, with video output coming in a future release.
Advanced users can use the preview mode that allows light ray editing of the captured image to add a ray effect by determining how bright the pixels are blended with the underlying image. Toolbar and blending mode controls are available to select different blending options.
Fader controls are available to adjust how long it takes for the pixel color values to fade back to it's normal color, effecting the length of the trails. Level adjustments are available to change how bright pixels start being processed.
