[prMac.com] Oslo, Norway - Nor Eagle today shed some light on their upcoming game Squid Drop for the iPhone and iPod touch. Squid Drop is an action game featuring a squid, that is - wait for it - dropping. The long wait for the next Norwegian-made, squid featuring game is almost over.
The titular squid is moved by sliding your finger left and right. The aim of the game is to avoid monsters and pick up bonuses to amass the lowest possible low-score. Yes, you read that right: "As the game is in essence an infinite journey down the abyss we figured the score should mimmic this." said T. Benjamin Larsen, Nor Eagle's freshly shaved CEO. "We think Squid Drop has a chance of becoming the next big indie hit. We're crossing our fingers squids are the new birds." he told us.
When asked why he believed Squid Drop has what it takes to succeed in the crowded App Store; Larsen had this to say: "The simple answer is that we believe Squid Drop is a really fun game to play and a quality title. If I was to elaborate I believe there's an unmet demand for squid featuring games out there. Recently bird lovers have been over catered for, while the silent squid loving majority has had little to look forward to. Squid Drop should remedy this shameful situation."
Among Squid Drop's features are Global Low Score, Achievements, and Unlockable Extras. The game is poised for an early April release. No price point has be decided at this stage.
