[prMac.com] Minneapolis, Minnesota - Subsume Technologies today is pleased to announce the release of calendaRSS 1.0, a new RSS and Atom feed reader for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. calendaRSS takes the unique approach of turning website news items into Calendar events, allowing features that simply aren't found in other feed readers.
The normal process of reading feeds on iOS devices is made tedious by forcing users to launch special apps, and then having them wait to download news items before anything can be done. Once users add their favorite feeds to calendaRSS, though, they will be able to see those news items as they normally check their schedule throughout the day.
"Calendars are one of the few things that iOS will regularly fetch in the background," explains Darrin O'Leary, President of Subsume Technologies. "That means new articles will already be waiting for you, finally making it quick and easy to see what's happening online. It really makes for a seamless experience."
* Supports feed URLs copied in Safari for easy entry
* Feeds are automatically downloaded in the background
* News appears in Calendar (or other calendaring apps)
* iOS Search will find news items
* iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad
* Requires iOS 4.0 or later
* 0.1 MB
Pricing and Availability
calendaRSS 1.0 is just $0.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the News category.
