[prMac.com] Hadsten, Denmark - With thousands of thousands of apps out there it seems that there's already enough to keep people occupied for a life time. When it comes to apps that actually help people save time and money, the selection is still somewhat limited. Well, actually there are hardly any such apps.
But behold, Danish upstart, Input Squared, just released the iPad app FreezerView 1.0, which turns the iPad into a brilliant, handy freezer organizer.
Most people spend a lot of time rummaging round their freezers looking for particular items, often stumbling across something they forgot about, and have to throw out because it has expired. Most people also spend a lot of time wondering what to cook for their next meals, and when uninspired often succumb to not cooking at all. A quick overview of their freezer content might provide the needed inspiration, but until now, such an overview has required old-fashioned tools and a rare level of self-discipline.
Using FreezerView is easy and requires a level of self-discipline realistic to far more people. You simply start by choosing a freezer that looks like your own real-life one. Then add items to your freezer by naming them, placing them and assigning a container type and color. FreezerView automatically records the date you add an item and alerts you after a set period, so you'll never have to forget about the frozen goods again. Once you've added an item, you can always move or change the container.
An overview of your freezer is now only an iPad away, meaning that you never have to throw out food again and that you'll save time, energy and money. This could be one of the first examples of how tablets are more than just hype, and actually make a positive difference in our daily lives.
