[prMac.com] Rolla, Missouri - IDC Projects, the developers of "Memory Matches" released their new mobile app entitled "Up?!". Up?! aims to challenge the player's reflexes and dexterity. During gameplay an onscreen arrow will randomly wander and spin in varying directions. The player must tilt their device in the appropriate direction to keep the arrow pointed up.
The arrow in the game also serves as the health vial and time clock. When the arrow is red, it is not facing in the upward position and the players health will decrease. The arrow becomes blue when it is returned to a vertical position, causing the health level to increase.
To make it challenging, three types of "meteors" will fly in from all directions. These "meteors" can cause the arrow to quickly rotate in a different direction (clockwise and counter-clockwise), or drain health. The player can destroy the meteors by tapping them before they hit the arrow. As time elapses, the "meteors" increase speed and frequency to provide more of a challenge for the player.
"The challenge comes from having to constantly tilt your device to follow the direction of the arrow while also attempting to keep meteors from colliding," says Chief Executive Officer Michael Orlando.
High scores and frequent gameplay will unlock different shapes to play with instead of the standard arrow. These shapes include a circle, bar, triangle, and diamond. The different shapes each come with their own bit of trickery. The game features beautiful retina graphics and is capable of displaying on Apple's newest iPhone 4 and 4th generation iPod touches. Up?! has been designed from scratch with these high resolution devices in mind.
Up?! is Game Center enabled so users can compete against their friends for the highest score. Also included is a local high score list as well as a global high score list using Apple's Game Center.
